Shalom! I really need your help!!
My name is Ria Cohen and I live in Cornwall. I am originally from Sheffield.
Both my parents walked out on me when I was 8 years old. I have no brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts uncles etc whom I know of. My grandparents May and Bill raised me and they are both dead. As far as I am aware my parents died also.
To cut a long story short, I married last October to a non-jewish man. My faith and culture are desparately important to me and I wanted a blessing in a synagogue but I could not prove my parentage and apparantly that is needed even in a reform shul. Can you assist at all? I do not know where I could obtain any records of my parents as I do not even know any addresses or family details. All I want is a blessing in shul!!! Is this impossible?! My family used to attend a shul in Sheffield I think in Ecclesall Rd but enquiries there have drawn a blank!
